Earlier today, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) officially certified the results of last week’s election. Across two days of voting, a majority of Postdocs and Research Associates participated in our historic election to form a union, with 95% of the votes being cast in favor of RAPUP-UAW (a final tally of 703 – 38). This strong mandate demonstrates that Postdocs and Research Associates are serious about negotiating the improvements, protections, and security that we deserve as highly skilled researchers.
In the coming days and weeks, Postdocs and Research Associates will begin charting out the next steps towards bargaining a strong first contract. To facilitate broad participation in this process, we are planning a Town Hall meeting where attendees can learn about the bargaining process and how we can build power ahead of negotiations. Now is a great time to ramp up your involvement with RAPUP-UAW as we begin this new phase of our campaign together. Please reach out if you are interested in getting involved, and stay tuned for more details on the Town Hall soon!
