Nominations are hereby declared open for one (1) open positions on the Research Associates and Postdocs United at Penn-UAW (RAPUP-UAW) Bargaining Committee.
All eligible Union supporters (all Postdoctoral Researchers, Postdoctoral Fellows, NRSA Postdoctoral Fellows, and Research Associates who are currently employed by Penn and who have filled out a RAPUP-UAW authorization card) are automatically nominated for the RAPUP-UAW Bargaining Committee.
If you have not yet filled out a union authorization card, you may do so at this link.
Any eligible Union supporter who wishes to accept the nomination for one of the two (2) Bargaining Committee positions listed above must indicate their intention no later than 5:00pm on Sunday, June 14, 2026, by e-mail to elections@pennpostdocunion.org.

Candidate statements:
Candidates must include their phone number and email address in their email to elections@pennpostdocunion.org accepting their nomination. Candidates are also encouraged, but not required, to submit a candidate statement of no more than 250 words. These will be posted on the RAPUP-UAW website if there are elections (see below). Candidate statements should consist of a short bio and reasons for wanting to join the Bargaining Committee.
It is the responsibility of the candidate to submit the candidate statement. All candidate statements must be received by the time nominations close at 5:00pm on Sunday, June 14, 2026.
Election Dates, Times and Locations:
In the event that the number of eligible candidates who accept nomination does not exceed one (1), such candidate(s) will be deemed elected by acclamation and no election will be held.
If more than one (1) eligible candidates accept nomination, an election will be conducted with the candidates who receive the highest number of votes being elected. All eligible Union supporters (all Postdoctoral Researchers, Postdoctoral Fellows, NRSA Postdoctoral Fellows, and Research Associates who are currently employed by Penn and who have filled out a RAPUP-UAW authorization card) are eligible to vote. Members of the bargaining unit who have not done so may fill out an authorization card prior to voting at this link.
If necessary, the election will take place electronically from Monday, June 22 at 9:00am until Wednesday, June 24 at 5:00pm. Voters shall be entitled to vote for a total of one (1) candidates.
