Last week, our letter demanding the university come to a fair agreement without delay on our proposals relating to Appointments and Reappointments and International Researcher Rights reached 500 signatures. That represents 500 Postdocs and Research Associates willing to fight for a more stable and equitable workplace! If you have already signed on, help spread the word by sharing the sign on link below with a colleague and encourage them to add their name, as well. The more people who sign on, the more strength we have at the bargaining table and the more likely we are to win these much needed improvements. If you’re interested in helping win a transformative first contract, reply to this email and another Postdoc or Research Associate will reach out.

Take 30 seconds to add your name using this link or forward it along to your labmates and colleagues!

Upcoming Events and Announcements

  • AAUP-Penn asks Postdocs and Research Associates to support shared governance and a commitment to free speech: The Provost’s Office has released a draft of new Open Expression Guidelines that threaten to erode shared governance and freedom of speech across the Penn community. In advance of two listening sessions at the end of this month, faculty members affiliated with AAUP-Penn are circulating a petition urging the Provost’s Office to commit to (1) shared decision making and procedural transparency and (2) robust protection of free speech. Members of the RAPUP-UAW Bargaining Committee have endorsed this statement and ask supporters to add their names in support.
