The NLRB just finished counting ballots and we voted by a resounding 95% (703-yes to 38-no), in favor of Research Associates and Postdocs United at Penn – UAW (RAPUP-UAW) as our union! Now that Postdocs and Research Associates have overwhelmingly voted to unionize, we hope that the Penn administration will come to the negotiating table and bargain in good faith.
We will have more information soon regarding next steps in our campaign. For now, we want to thank everyone who participated in our historic election and in the months of discussion, debate, and outreach among postdocs that lead to this point.
Together, we have finally won the right to determine our role as postdocs and research associates at our university, taking an unprecedented stand for the value of the work we do here at Penn.
